Mobility Rebate Plan
UP TO $1,000 REIMBURSEMENT

To make it easier for individuals with disabilities to take full advantage of today's personal transportation market, the Mobility Program reimburses up to $1,000 toward the actual cost of eligible aftermarket adaptive equipment for drivers or passengers when installed (or reinstalled) on any eligible purchased or leased* new car, van or truck. Adaptations include equipment such as hand controls, wheelchair or scooter lifting devices and low effort steering.

Eligible Adaptive Equipment Must Be:

  • Permanently installed in the vehicle
  • Installed by a licensed equipment installer
  • Installed for a driver or passenger with a permanent disability

*Must have lessor's written authorization.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Must purchase or lease an eligible new and unused 2006-2007 model year GM, Ford, Chevy, Saturn, Toyota, or Volkswagen passenger car, van or truck through an authorized dealer. Adaptions must be completed within 6 months from the date of vehicle delivery and the claim processed within 90 days from the date of conversion.

All Bruno wheelchair and scooter lifts are eligible for reimbursement under the terms of the various mobility programs offered by the automobile manufactures listed below. These programs were established to provide cash payments for the installation of adaptive equipment in any new vehicle, purchased or leased.

GM Mobility Program

Through the GM Mobility Program, a customer will be reimbursed for an account matching the cost of after-market driver or passenger adaptive aids, including installation, or reinstallation,up to a maximum of 1,000 when such equipment is installed on an eligible GM vehicle.  For more information, contact the GM Mobility Assistance Center, toll free at 800-323-9935 (TTY Users: 800-833-9935). Saturn Mobility Program

Customers will be reimbursed by the Saturn Mobility Program for the cost of after-market driver or passenger adaptive aids, including installation, or reinstallation, in an amount up to a maximum of $1000 when such equipment is installed on an eligible GM vehicle. Ford Mobility Motoring Program

The Ford Mobility Motoring Program provides the customer with a check, directly from a Ford or Lincoln Mercury dealer, for up to $1000 toward exact cost of the installation of adaptive equipment when purchasing or leasing any eligible new Ford or Lincoln-Mercury vehicle.  For more information, contact the Ford Mobility Motoring Program toll free at 800-952-2248 (TTY Users: 800-833-0312). Daimler Chrysler Automobility Program

When the customer buys or leases any new Daimler Chrysler Corporation vehicle, Daimler Chrysler Corporation will provide cash reimbursement to help defray the cost of installing adaptive driver or passenger equipment on the vehicle. Volkswagen Mobility Access Program

Volkswagen will refund up to $1000 on the purchase or lease of a new Volkswagen vehicle if vehicle access equipment is installed. Texas State Exemptions for Disabled Drivers

Texas state residents who are disabled can claim exemption from motor vehicle sales and use taxes on new or used vehicles when adaptive equipment is installed for use by a disabled driver. The state sales tax applied to the cost of the adaptive equipment, or any charges for the installation of the equipment, may also be exempt. Claims can be made after the date of purchase. Volvo Assistance Program

Volvo Mobility Assistance provides Adaptive Equipment cash assistance of up to $1000 toward the cost of adaptive equipment, or up to $200 for an alert hearing device, lumbar support or running boards* with the purchase or lease and adapting of an eligible new 2004 Volvo. Upon request, you'll receive materials with everything necessary to arrange for adapting a Volvo Vehicle and to claim your Volvo Mobility Cash Assistance.
